Student Highlight: Kianna Nieuzytek

Hi, my name is Kianna! I’m a digital artist who uses the drawing program Krita. I’ve been drawing ever since I could pick up a pencil, and no one stopped me, so here I am. I flew through drawing notebooks in elementary school, couldn’t stop doodling in the margins of my English notes during middle school, and pursued art as my elective each year in high school.

I’ve been selling my art ever since I figured out that I could, whether it be for Robux or actual USD. I got my roots in traditional art with colored pencil, but my true passion lies in digital art. I had more control of color and composition, and had more unique textures that I could access.

I love using my art to tell stories and explore themes through the characters I create. Once I had been introduced to Dungeons & Dragons, though, I was practically addicted to developing my character’s backstories and drawing art inspired by it. In fact, nearly all of the illustrations I submitted for this are characters I made for different Tabletop RPGs.

I’m most interested in medieval fantasy and anything magical, so a lot of my art is very whimsical and colorful to capture that. I’m inspired by artists like Ryoko Kui and Sara Kipin, both of whom explore magical fantasy themes, have a strong grasp on color in illustration. I’m an Illustration major, and after or even during my stay at SCCC, I hope to make a business selling my original work or selling fan merch.
